I don’t have much experience using the power tools but we managed to get the plastic on the cattle panel hoop house. Now the fun time begins… planting seeds!
With as dry as it’s been the price of hay has sure gone up. A good chance of rain is in the forecast, so maybe we’ll finally get some much needed rain.
It was a beautiful day so we were able to get a lot done on our cattle panel greenhouse.
Brooke is getting into making and selling crafts. We’re opening a shop on my blog, and she will have lots of things available soon. She made these cute little bunny baskets for Easter and since Easter is coming soon, she wanted to go ahead and get them out.
We’re having the worst drought that we’ve ever had in a very long time in our area of Kansas. There’s nothing left in our pastures so the goats are constantly escaping into the wheat fields where the grass is quite literally greener on the other side of the fence.
For Dylan’s birthday we decided to go to the Strataca Salt Mines in Hutchinson, Kansas. It was an adventure like no other and one that we highly recommend!
We worked on the cattle panel greenhouse more today and were hoping to get it done. Things went slower than planned, so we still have a ways to go to get it done.
Blossom had her kid and it’s so cute! Since she’s a new mama, it took her some time to figure out what it was but after a little help, I think she’s going to be a great mama.
It was a surprise ending to an awesome birthday!
Since everyone had the day off, we decided to celebrate my birthday a day early and Brooke made me the fanciest birthday cake I’ve ever had.
Blossom is getting close to being ready to kid! We’re guessing March 7th as her due date, hopefully we’re right.
Getting baby chicks is always so much fun! Ours arrived at the post office so we ran to get them. Join us as we show you what we ordered and try to figure out what breed each chick is.
I ran onto this cute video of some chicks we had several years ago fighting over a cricket. Just had to post! Who wins? You’ll just have to watch and see…
Our baby chicks arrived in the mail and here’s a sneak peak!
Plans to build a cattle panel greenhouse have been in the works for a while, and we’re finally getting started on it!
We have lots of work we want to get done. We tried to start on some of it but it was colder out than what we thought. Didn’t get much done but at least we are a small step closer to being ready for spring!
We’re taking some of our mini rex bunnies to the Yoder Small Animal Auction. This time went a lot better than last time!
Just a little update and had to show you how big and cute our Holland Lops bunnies are..
This day doesn’t even compare to the beautiful day we had in my last video… well wait… actually it IS a beautiful day, just a different kind of beautiful.
We finally have warm day without a lot of wind so we decided to get out and spend time with the animals, do a little garden work and just enjoy the day.
Today I take you along as I do chores and show you on how the garden is looking after adding all those leaves plus give you an update on what’s been going on.
We bought a small green house so that we could try growing some greens inside while it’s still cold outside. Gearing up to start seeds in a few weeks!!
In this video I show you how to make an easy pot roast meal in a jar (Ball recipe) with the Carey Smart Canner.
We saw an interesting post where someone made cheap fire starters with egg cartons, drier lint, and crayons or paraffin wax. We decided to try it out to see if it works…
We let the bunnies out to have a little play time and just had to share a little bit of the cuteness..
Listen to our conversation as we talk with all of you who joined us live about which chicks we should order!
I decided to open up the crock and check to see how the sauerkraut was coming along. Also, I talk about reorganizing and upcoming videos!
I found this amazing bread dough recipe! In addition to a loaf of bread, you can use it to make a variety of things like cinnamon rolls, pizza, bagels, foccacia, and more! I even experimented with making tortillas and they turned out great.
Oh no… there’s an uninvited possum in the chicken coop!! I know he’s pretty much harmless so I try to be calm, cool and collected…
