I’ve had comments from viewers wondering how we afford to do what we do. I realized from the outside looking in it might seem we spend a lot towards our animals, which in their eyes, could be used towards our houses instead. So, how do we do it?
Our turkey hen has been sitting on a clutch of eggs for a while. So when we got back from a short vacation, we weren’t surprised to find hatched eggs, but we WERE surprised to find baby chicken chicks instead of turkey poults.
It’s chore time! I’m so happy to be able to get out and do chores every morning! Since starting work, I’ve definitely felt disconnected with everything around the homestead. But things are changing this summer and I’m so happy. It’s a great time to relax, reconnect, and reflect.
The mulberries are starting to ripen! We decided to go check them out, and of course, the goats joined us. It was a perfectly relaxing and fun way to spend this cool and beautiful summer morning.

We’re kicking off the summer by adding windows to Brooke’s tiny house. She’s excited to get it done, and they turned out so cute! We hope you will join us for a summer filled with tiny house projects, gardening, homesteading, and of course, LOTS of fun!
It’s been a while… but we’ve been working hard to get ready to kick off our summer time vlogging fun! It’s going to be a summer filled with tiny house building, gardening, animals and lots of daily life on a small farm. But most importantly, we’re going to enjoy living simply and focus on doing more of what we love. We’re excited and hope you’ll join us for a summer of fun.
It’s the most exciting time of the year on the homestead! Warmer days, sunshine, the garden is waking up, new seedlings are popping up, and today our baby chicks arrived in the mail!
Having a good life and being satisfied with your life is about doing more of what you love. For us, living in the country with our animals, growing a a garden, building our tiny house and working towards a simpler, more self sufficient life IS what we love. By finding a job where I could be off during the summer and doing some financial planning, I am able to take the summer off…. which means more vlogs this summer…lots more! 🙂
