We were wrapping presents and all of a sudden we heard someone on the roof… who could it be? Miley got her favorite cookies cut out and baked so we’re getting a couple steps closer to being ready for Christmas.
Baking Day|| We Should Give Up and Go Back to Bed!
Well, it was one of those days where we really should have just given up, went back to bed and started the day over again. But despite the rough start, the day actually turned out pretty good and best of all we got the majority of our Christmas baking done.
We Let the Turkeys Out
I’ve been worried about the turkeys getting too cold at night since they don’t like to go up. I finally took some time to do some research and found that turkeys are actually cold hardy and do fine being left to fine suitable shelter for themselves.
Caution: Gingerbread Houses Under Construction
Making gingerbread houses is a fairly new tradition for us that started several years ago. It’s turned into a great way to make memories and spend time together during the Christmas season. This year we found gingerbread barn kits so we got a couple to try out. We gotta have barns and animals too, ya know?
Funday Friday|| It’s So Cold Poop Doesn’t Even Squish
It’s Friday so we’re up early to go skating! It’s so cold out the chickens don’t want to come out, the goats also prefer to stay in the barn, we have no idea what to do with the turkeys, and poop doesn’t even squish when you step on it. Yep… it’s that cold!
Easy Cinnamon Rolls That Turn Out Great Every Time
Here’s a cinnamon roll recipe that is easy to make and turns out great every time.
A Two Soup and Cinnamon Roll Kind of Day
It was another cold day so we stayed warm by making two different soups, one for lunch and one for supper, plus we baked cinnamon rolls.
Mixing Up Cinnamon Rolls and a Christmas Party.
We got some cinnamon rolls mixed up so we could spend the next day baking. In the evening I took Miley to a Christmas party and we took time to drive through the park looking at the lights.
A Visit From the Compost Inspector
We’ve got really cold temperatures coming so we’re getting a few things done that need to be done so we don’t have to worry about doing them in the really cold temps.
Working in the Garden in December
The day was so beautiful! We had errands to run in town but we put them aside because we couldn’t pass up spending such a lovely afternoon in the garden. We’re attempting to use the Ruth Stout method of gardening, so right now is the best time to get mulch added. That way there is time for it to break down before planting time.
