This Chicken Hatched HOW Many Chicks?? It’s A Homestead Animal Update!!

We had a request for an animal update, so Miley is taking you with her as she does the chores so you can see how they are doing. There’s cuteness, silliness, frustration, and even a surprise! I’d tell ya all about it…but it’s more interesting if you watch….

Grub Invasion Update, Moon Flowers and More! Week 41 2018

Oh the wonderful smell of rotting, decaying grubs… Just a little update on the whole grub situation and how I decided to get rid of them.

Today Miley takes you along as she does chores and shows you some of the flowers she’s grown.

It’s another crazy day on the homestead where nothing goes as planned… but then we should be used to that by now. If only I could have a few moments to get my sauce canned…..

Flooded Barn, A day At the Kansas State Fair, Never A Dull Moment and More! Week 38 2018

What a day on the homestead…nothing went as planned but as we always say… “There’s never a dull moment on the homestead!” Ollie got out AGAIN and we moved the turkeys around. Is Bumbleston pregnant? Will we take her to the fair? Be sure to watch to the end of the video because Brooke has some really awesome news!

It’s Kansas State Fair time so we packed up Miley’s chicken and headed out!

OH no… it rained so much our barn got flooded. What a stinky mess!

A Day In the Life, When It Rains It Pours and When It Pours It Floods and More! Week 37 2018

Oh my, got a ton of rain and more flooding than we’ve ever seen!

It poured rain, our tents got wet, so we came up with a new plan… and now we kinda question our sanity!

We had a large basil harvest so I tested out a quick way to dry it. While I canned tomatoes Brooke finished setting up her aquarium and now it’s finally time to show you!

Cleaning rabbit cages, harvesting tomatoes, gathering eggs, taking the goat for a walk, finishing up the 4H record book… it’s just another day on the homestead.

Pondering If All This Is Worth It, Bunny Mishap and More! Week 35 2018

Miley has been planning to take our Holland Lop, Bumbleston, to the state fair but now she may not get to. Why? Well, you’ll just have to watch…

So I’ve been pondering… is all of this really worth it?

It’s time to pull out the cucumber plants in the green house so we can plant more. While doing it I discovered a nasty squash bug infestation. We had our alfalfa swathed and baled, so now the hard work of getting them put away begins.
